St. Croix Valley SART is hiring for two culturally specific Forensic Nursing positions within their organization.

One position is for their Rice Lake location with the second position working from their Ladysmith location.

Position: Sexual Assault Forensic Nurse (SANE) Supervising Coordinator

The Sexual Assault Forensic Nurse (SANE) Supervising Coordinator is responsible for developing and implementing a trauma-informed and culturally responsive advocacy-driven SANE Program that includes a multidisciplinary, collaborative response centering American Indian survivors of sexual violence.  The SANE Program Coordinator also provides specialized and trauma-informed medical care to adult, adolescents, and children who have been impacted by sexual assault, intimate partner violence, child abuse, elder abuse, human trafficking, and non-intentional trauma. As part of the specialized medical care, this position provides timely, thorough, and professional forensic evidence collection, documentation, and preservation of evidence according to professional practice standards and Tracking Our Truth policy and procedures. This position also facilitates appropriate referral and follow-up care attempting to protect the patient from further emotional and/or physical harm.

Scheduled Weekly Hours: 32-40 hours a week

Salary: $22-$28/Hr based on experience, plus benefits

Work Shift: Days with on call expectations

Designated Office Location:  St. Croix Valley SART, Rice Lake and St. Croix Valley SART, Ladysmith

Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience in Emergency, Maternal Child Health or Medical/Surgical nursing, preferred.
  • Experience in evaluating, enhancing, and building new programming to better serve patients, preferred.
  • Bachelors in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing, preferred.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal), listening and interpersonal skills.
  • Human relation skills with the ability to develop rapport and maintain positive, professional relationships with a variety of patients, staff and physicians.
  • Skilled in maintaining a highly visible role in the community which demands a high level of professionalism, and ability to effectively interface with county- and tribe-specific community leadership regarding program operations and the conditions survivors face.
  • Ability to effectively make critical, independent decisions and function autonomously.
  • Good organization, prioritization and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrates time management skills with an ability to multi-task and prioritize with frequent interruptions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google tools.
  • Dependable, strong work ethic.
  • Demonstrates flexibility in scheduling.
  • Preference will be given to a Native American Applicant

Job Qualifications

Minimum Required: 

  • Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing, Bachelors preferred
  • Registered Nurse license issued by State of Wisconsin (current and valid with no restrictions)
  • Previous experience working in victim service field
  • Successful completion of and/or willingness to complete Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner training (SANE-A and SANE-P) within 3 months
  • Successful completion of and/or willingness to complete Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner Certification (SANE-A, SANE-P) within 1 year
  • Must be able to respond to exam site within 60 minutes
  • Must be licensed to drive in Wisconsin (current and valid) and have own transportation and vehicle insurance
  • Required to attend culturally specific and anti-oppression training
